Jesus and politics

here is a helpful reminder from Timmy Brister:

Those of us who profess allegiance to Jesus Christ cannot allow Him to be painted in colors of blue or red. Furthermore, we cannot allow ourselves to be identified with a political party or set our hopes on anyone who would sit in the Oval Office. Jesus Christ was not a community organizer nor would He be running for President of the United States. Let’s be clear on that.

Go read the rest of Timmy’s post for more about who Jesus really was and who He is today.

I know. I wanted to copy the whole thing, but that would be stealing wouldn’t it?

well, i thought politics and religion shouldn’t be mixed. are you trying to say that we can’t put our hope on our leaders to make good decision? i’m a believer, and i know my trust in on God. when you put your whole trust on men, then that’s not good.

i believe Obama was chosen by God to save us from our own downfall.

    Makaku,

    thanks for stopping by.

Unfortunately, you are incorrect. The only man chosen by God to save us from our fall is Jesus. Do you know Him?

No president, Republican or Democrat can “save” us. Only the chosen Lamb who was slain on our behalf for our sins and who rose again. That Lamb is the one who continues to live interceding on behalf of His sheep.

Place your faith in Jesus. Do not put your faith in human politicians who will inevitably disappoint your hopes and aspirations.

    Keith
